Bright & Beautiful franchise swaps cleaning cloths for charity shoeboxes in support of Operation Christmas Child
Professional housekeeping franchise, Bright & Beautiful, volunteered to spend the day at a Derby depot on 14 November to pack shoeboxes full of toys, clothes and supplies for Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan’s Purse, to deliver gift-filled shoeboxes to over 146 million children in more than 100 countries.
Toni Hibbert, franchise owner of Bright & Beautiful Derby has been involved with the charity on a personal level for five years, but this year she has involved her team of professional housekeepers, so they could experience first-hand how impactful a small shoe box can be for children around the world. The franchise is also sponsoring the shipment of ten shoeboxes, as well as contributing their own toys and gifts to go into the boxes.
Over the next few weeks, Toni and her team are scheduled to drop in and help at the Derby Processing centre to check and pack the thousands of boxes that have been donated and delivered before they are sent out to children around the world
Toni commented: “We have had such a fantastic time so far at Operation Christmas Child’s depot and together we worked tirelessly to get the shoeboxes filled with gorgeous toys, school supplies, and much needed hygiene items for so many well-deserving children around the world. Once we got the hang of it, the process became rather addictive and we can’t wait to go back and contribute to the fantastic effort from the regular volunteers. It is going to be a very busy time until the very last boxes are loaded into the lorries for their onward journey.‘’
