The family behind Crolla’s Gelateria has been producing traditional Italian Gelato for more than 100 years since Serafino Crolla first arrived in Glasgow from Italy in 1895.
The firm still produces its own ice cream which is supplied to ice cream vans, shops, cafes, restaurants, hotels and wholesalers. Today Crolla’s Gelateria is run by Peter Crolla, Serafino’s great grandson, and the family firm has opened its first Gelateria in Glasgow – winner of Scotland’s Best Ice Cream Parlour – which has become known for excellent customer service and, of course, delicious ice cream. The Gelateria also offers a full menu of food and drinks including Italian coffee but remains as committed as ever to serving top quality ice cream. There are now more than 60 flavours of ice cream for customers to choose from which are available as traditional ice cream cones, sundaes or unique ‘cold-stone creations’. Customers can also choose from sandwiches, paninis and desserts.
Looking ahead, Crolla’s Gelateria has plans to expand by opening new establishments around the UK through franchising with committed individuals who are driven by providing excellent customer service and passionate about ice cream. There are eight more Gelaterias either soon to open or recently opened around England and Scotland including Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Preston.
