Little Learners is an educational preschool company that has won awards for its innovative messy play classes for babies and pre-schoolers. Messy play is a wonderful way for children to develop a variety of different skills including social skills, confidence, physical movement, imagination and gross and fine motor skills.
Messy play incorporates fun aspects of play with education in a way that engages and inspires little children. The programme includes painting, scribbling, dancing, the use of play-dough and much more to get little legs moving and little minds thinking about the world around them. Children are encouraged and expected to use every part of their bodies to make beautiful creations that strengthen their cognitive thinking and their core muscles. This means that by the time they reach school age they are more easily able to hold a pencil and concentrate on set work.
What makes Little Learners stand out is the characters – created by founder Rachel Fay – who help to teach the children the life lessons and skills that they will eventually come away with. There are four characters, known as the Mark Makers, and children are asked to focus on one character every week. This will make what they learn more engaging, fun and memorable.
