Veeno Wine Café, which specialises in Sicilian wines and authentic Italian spuntini, was founded in 2013 in Manchester by two Italian men who shared a passion for the Italian practice of meeting to drink, nibble and relax after work. They created Veeno to be a place where everyone could enjoy good wines and spuntini – platters of meats, cheeses and other appetisers imported from specially selected Italian producers.
Since Veeno Wine Café launched, it has expanded to almost 20 restaurants which can be found in England, Scotland and Wales, all the way down the length of the UK from Edinburgh to Bristol via Cardiff.
The style of the restaurants is simple and neat giving the impression of space and light. The importance of wine to the concept is highlighted through elegant photography on the walls. The table service is friendly and personal, and the staff can suggest some complementary combinations and give descriptions of the flavours. The look and feel of the restaurants are brought to life through the authentic Italian food giving a true representation of the Apperitivo tradition.
Veeno Franchising is a joint venture between Veeno and Sviluppo Franchising who lead the market in creating and developing franchise networks in Italy. Together, the companies aim to develop the most successful Italian Wine Café on the market. Future plans include expansion to Ireland, Scandinavia and the Far East.
