Eager Belvoir Franchise Deal Completed
Buy-out aids Belvoir Lettings franchise expansion.
Belvoir Lettings has completed the buy-out of a joint shareholder in a deal advised by accountants and business advisers Grant Thornton and law firm Freeth Cartwright. The transaction passes complete ownership of the business to the Goddard family.
Mike Goddard founded and started Belvoir from his front room and now Mike, Stephanie and Mike’s son, Andrew, operate the business from its head office in Grantham. His passion, infectious enthusiasm and immense levels of energy have enabled him and his wife Stephanie to grow the business from a single rented property in 1995 to the current nationwide network of over 90 franchised offices with tens of thousands of landlord clients and tenant customers benefiting from the Belvoir service.
By offering the business opportunity to carefully selected franchisees, the Belvoir brand has grown rapidly and successfully throughout the UK. Mike Goddard comments: “Belvoir has achieved its success through careful selection of the right franchisees to promote the Belvoir proposition. This has been developed over many years and is based on the consistent application of sound business principles. In Grant Thornton we found advisers who were able to understand our ethos and help us implement our business strategy.
“It is down to my fantastic team of franchisees and Central Office staff that Belvoir has become the largest specialist property lettings company in the UK. Stephanie and I are really proud of them all, and now we have been joined by our son Andrew as a Director on the Board we have in place a superb team to take Belvoir forward and upward.”
